Building a Successful Online Community through Social Networking

February 26th, 2008 · No Comments

Social Networking - a successful online community definitely takes a lot of time, patience, commitment and pains to build.

Do definitely start working on the content of your website and blogs. It’s important that your website/blog leaves visitors with a good impression of your knowledge and understanding of the subject matter on their very first visit!

In the meantime, you can also concurrently start to build your community. Being able to provide valuable and useful content is key to building a successful community. And you yourself, or people who are involved with you in the project, clearly need to have a better than average knowledge in the particular subject, so that when people come to you with issues/problems/queries, you are able to answer them and retain them with you, as you continue to grow the community bigger and bigger.

Remember that Rome wasn’t built overnight, so you really have to build from small. You can start by creating a Facebook group and inviting people you know who are genuinely interested in this, and start to share tips/pointers on this area? A quick trick to see is to do online research or go to your nearest library and find relevant books which you can get ideas from and write short articles, writeups on. You can also go to the various Article Directories to find information on it.

Another thing you can consider to build your personal reputation and the reputation of your website portal is to start community sites like Hubpages.com and Squidoo.com.
